Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the billing, trial, cancellation, and refund terms for paid access to XBreakout, a web application for crypto and forex traders offering native charting, a guided trading plan, automatic trade journaling, psychology analytics, and simulated (paper) trading. XBreakout is not a broker, exchange, or financial adviser; it executes no real-money orders and provides no personalised investment advice. This policy is operated by [ FILL IN: your legal entity / name ] ([ FILL IN: entity type (e.g. sole proprietor) ]), [ FILL IN: your business address ], Sri Lanka.

Paid plans are not yet live

At the date shown above, XBreakout does not charge for access and no payment method is collected. Billing infrastructure has not launched. The terms in this policy are published in advance for transparency and take effect only once paid plans go live. Until that time, no charge, trial countdown, or auto-renewal described here is in operation, and nothing in this document should be read as a claim that we are currently collecting money. When paid billing launches, this policy will carry an updated effective date and the account will surface the paid terms before any charge can occur.

Subscription price and billing cycle (once live)

When paid plans launch, the intended subscription is priced at USD $5.00 per month. Key terms will be:

  • Price: USD $5.00 per month, charged in United States dollars. Local taxes (such as VAT/GST) may be added where required by law and shown before you confirm.
  • Billing cycle: monthly. Each payment covers one month of access from the charge date.
  • Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly period at the then-current price, and continues to renew until you cancel. You authorise the recurring charge to your chosen payment method when you subscribe.
  • Payment processing: payments will be handled by our payment processor (Stripe, and possibly a crypto payment option). We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
  • Price changes: if we change the subscription price, we will give you advance notice by email before the change applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you do not wish to continue.

7-day free trial

When paid plans launch, new subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. During the trial you have full access to the paid features at no charge. The trial mechanics will be:

  • The trial runs for 7 calendar days from the day you start it.
  • If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your first payment of USD $5.00 is charged automatically at the end of day 7, and your paid monthly subscription begins immediately, renewing monthly thereafter.
  • If you cancel at any point during the 7-day trial, you are not charged and access ends when the trial period ends.
  • We will make the trial end date visible in your account. Free-trial availability may be limited to one per person or account.

How to cancel — cancel anytime

You can cancel your subscription at any time, yourself, from your account settings in the XBreakout app — no email or phone call is required. Cancellation:

  • takes effect at the end of your current paid period (or at the end of the free trial if you are still in it);
  • stops all future automatic renewals and charges;
  • leaves your paid access active until the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep what you paid for.

Because you retain access through the end of the current period, cancelling part-way through a month does not, by itself, trigger a mid-period refund (see the statutory-rights and voluntary-refund sections below).

EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the paid subscription contract within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason. This right applies in addition to, and is not limited by, anything else in this policy.

Starting the service during the withdrawal period. Because XBreakout is a digital service that you will usually want to begin using straight away — including during the free trial — we ask, when you subscribe, for your express request and consent to begin providing the service before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, together with your acknowledgement that by doing so you will lose the right to withdraw once the service has been fully performed. Where you have given that consent and then withdraw within the 14 days while the service is still ongoing, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the service actually provided up to the moment you tell us you are withdrawing; where no charge has yet occurred (for example, you withdraw during the free trial), there is nothing to refund.

How to withdraw. To exercise the right of withdrawal you must tell us of your decision by a clear statement before the 14 days expire. You can:

  • email us at [ FILL IN: support email ] with your name, account email, and a statement that you are withdrawing from the subscription; or
  • use the following model form (you are not obliged to use it):
    • "To [ FILL IN: your legal entity / name ], [ FILL IN: your business address ], [ FILL IN: support email ]: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my subscription contract for XBreakout. Ordered/started on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Account email: [your email]. Date: [today's date]."

Where a refund is due under this right, we will refund it using the same payment method you used, without undue delay, and in any event within 14 days of being informed of your withdrawal.

Refunds beyond your statutory rights

Outside the statutory rights described above (and any other mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to you), our standard position is that subscription fees are non-refundable for partial billing periods. In particular:

  • we do not provide pro-rated refunds for the unused part of a month after you cancel — instead, you keep access until the end of that paid period;
  • because a 7-day free trial lets you evaluate the paid features before any charge, we expect most concerns to be resolved before the first payment.

That said, we may, at our discretion and as a goodwill gesture, offer a refund or credit — for example if you were charged in error, could not access the service due to a fault on our side, or contact us promptly after an unwanted renewal. Requesting goodwill is not a waiver of, and does not replace, your statutory rights. To ask, email [ FILL IN: support email ] with your account email and a short description of what happened.

What happens to your data when you cancel

Cancelling your paid subscription does not, on its own, delete your account or your stored content. Your journal and trade entries, trader profile, and app preferences remain associated with your account so you can return later or continue on any free tier we offer. You remain in control of that data:

  • you can export your journal and trade data from the app before or after cancelling; and
  • you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing [ FILL IN: privacy email ], subject to the retention and deletion terms in our Privacy Policy.

Once you request account deletion and we complete it, stored entries cannot be recovered, so please export anything you wish to keep first.

Accuracy of this policy and contact

This policy is intended to describe the billing, trial, cancellation, and refund flow that the XBreakout app actually performs at the point paid plans go live. If the live implementation differs in any material way, we will update this document and its effective date before relying on it. Nothing in this policy removes mandatory consumer-protection rights or the right to bring a matter before the courts, consumer authorities, or alternative dispute resolution bodies available to you in your country of residence.

Questions about billing, cancellations, or refunds can be sent to [ FILL IN: support email ]. This document is provided for general information and reflects engineering and risk drafting rather than a signed legal opinion; you should have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer in the operator's jurisdiction before relying on it.
